63 Pound Freshwater Striped Bass

On April 3rd, 2009 Terry McConnell caught this 63 pound, 4 ounce freshwater striped bass in Lake Russell. Lake Russell spans the Georgia/South Carolina border. He caught it on a blue back herring.

When it is certified it will become both the Georgia and South Carolina state record freshwater striped bass. The fish breaks the previous record for both states of 59 pounds, 8 ounces that was caught by the same fisherman in Lake Hartwell.

The world record freshwater striped bass weighed 67 Pounds, 8 ounces and was caught by Hank Ferguson in California. To see it follow this link: Freshwater.
